Radical Criminology — or Just Criminology — Then, and Now
Elliott Currie provocatively explores why the agenda of “radical criminology” to any objective observer was mostly an exercise in telling uncomfortable truths that others did not want to hear. The real radicals were people like James Q. Wilson, who, for example, famously declared that there were not any “root causes” of crime, giving cover for unprecedented levels of repression and punitive social policy for decades to come.
